MENISCUS
 |
|
We have observed that operations on the meniscus which are not prompted by any trauma are almost always carried out on the leg that appears to be longer because of the tilted pelvis. The reason for this is that this leg is subjected to higher dynamic stresses. With an asymmetrical pelvis, there may be a difference of up to 20 Kg in the distribution of weight on the legs and therefore on the knee joints, The ATLANTOtec® method can bring about a rapid and marked improvement in the tilting of the pelvis, preventing the consequent overloading of the knee and hip joints – an overloading that would sooner or later have threatened the structural integrity, frequently to the point of making a surgical operation necessary.
