SPIRAL CT SCAN PICTURE
If the client so wishes, it is possible, before the treatment, to carry out a three-dimensional Tomography at a specially-equipped surgery or clinic. In order to be able to show the shifting of the Atlas, it is necessary to have access to a spiral CT scanner and the right settings for the apparatus. A traditional CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) scanner with standard settings CANNOT be used for this purpose. Ordinary radiography machines and magnetic resonance scanners (MRI/RMT/RM) are not capable of clearly showing the misalignment of the Atlas. Indeed, this is why, until now, medicine has not paid proper attention to the Atlas problem. It is necessary to find a clinic equipped with a spiral CT scanner. Tomography is not essential to the conduct of the treatment, except in a few rare special cases. A second spiral CT scan can be carried out after the ATLANTOtec® treatment in order to check the results. The photo on the left shows a spiral CT scanner.
Where to have a spiral CT scan in Switzerland: Dr John Hayek, Neurologist, Weinbergstr. 160, 8006 Zurich (Tel. 044 363 36 21), has the necessary equipment and expertise to carry out a spiral CT of the highest quality. Using a spiral CT scanner and appropriate image processing software, it is possible to make accurate measurements of the misalignment of the atlanto-occipital joint. We recommend that you have a CT scan carried out by Dr Hayek, who has great experience and expertise. Appointments for CT scans are made through the ATLANTOtec® centre after manual checking for the presence of a misalignment. CT Appointments are available from Monday to Friday until 15:30 (mornings only on Thursdays). For those who live far away, it is possible to arrange two appointments for the same day: one for the spiral CT and one for the Atlas treatment. It is recommended to have a subsequent follow-up CT scan in order to check that the treatment has been successful.
The first series of CT images (before treatment) can usually be paid for through health insurance. The follow-up CT is billed directly to the patient (flat fee of CHF 300.-)
