Description of the ATLANTOtec® method
With ATLANTOtec® a permanent adjustment is possible in most cases without any risk involved.

The two phases of the treatment:
The first step is to provide a special preparatory massage technique of the short, deep neck musculature. This is followed by an expansion (stretching) of specific muscles that are connected to the Atlas. The objective is to effectively release the clinging of the muscles to the cervical vertebrae in order to provide the Atlas vertebra with greater mobility.
Therefore two treatment devices are applied simultaneously in such a way that they emit a frequency modulation with continuously changing frequencies to which the muscles cannot accustom. These micro-movements reach the muscle fibers and ease all of the muscle layers. A mobilization of the vertebrae follows. First the muscles of the entire spinal column are treated, in order to focus on blockages of the neck area and particularly in the area of the Atlas. It usually takes a few minutes to get used to this special type of massage, but the relaxation may be so deep, it may put you to sleep.

During the second step, and depending on the misalignment of the Atlas, the Atlastechnician will repeatedly apply pressure to precise points of the basal skull musculature with the objective of allowing the Atlas to return to its correct anatomical-physiological position. During this part of the treatment, the patient is sedentary and head movement is restricted. The treatment is applied using two specially-developed devices (AtlantoVib 2010) which pulse and vibrate at a continuously changing frequency that can be adjusted according to the tone and consistency of the muscles concerned. These devices allow the deepest muscle layers, which are impossible to reach by manual massage, to relax.
For 5 to 8 weeks the body is given time to adapt to the new situation. During the following examination session the position of the Atlas vertebra is examined and re-adjusted if necessary, if the Atlas is still not perfectly aligned. The treatment is completed with a relaxing neck and back massage. The cost of the follow-up session is included.
The ATLANTOtec® method has nothing in common with chiropractic manipulation and does not involve abrupt rotation of the head or sudden movements.
The ATLANTOtec® method differs clearly from other treatments such as Atlaslogy, Vitalogy, Arlen`s Atlas-therapy and Atlas-orthogonal.
How the treatment is carried out
The ATLANTOtec® treatment is carried out as follows:
 |
ATLANTOtec® Laser-Messsystem
|
- Completion of two forms containing the patient's personal information and a standardized report on his/her state of health. (This is not an anamnesis).
- Explanation of the effects of the misalignment on the rest of the body, with a demonstration using an anatomical model of the skull: how the treatment is carried out, information about possible reactions after the treatment.
- Discussion of any questions.
- Careful manual examination to evaluate the misalignment of the Atlas. If the vertebra is found to be in the correct position, the treatment is not carried out and there is no charge.
- Measurement, using 2 sets of scales, of the distribution of weight between the 2 legs before and after treatment.
- Photographic documentation of the posture, viewed from the rear and from the side, and verification of the angle of rotation of the head.
- Deep massage of the neck and back muscles using special devices. In case the muscles of the neck are very tight and hard, a deep massage is necessary before the manual palpation.
- Correction of the misalignment of the Atlas using special devices, with regular checks carried out until correct positioning of the Atlas is achieved.
- Repetition of photographic documentation; comparison and verification of photographs.
Please do not apply any make-up before the consultation.
Second session after 5 to 8 weeks:
- Review of the treatment outcome by use of the health form, which was filled in during the first session.
- Discussion of the improvements and reactions produced. Where appropriate, repetition of photographic documentation and comparison of photographs is performed.
- Intense massage of the neck and back muscles.
We recommend that you book some massages or visit an osteopath between the first and the second consultation to accelerate the regeneration phase.
Please do not apply any make-up before the consultation.
